The choir is happy to introduce the director/conductor for the 2011-2012 season, Megan Busath. (pronounced BYOO-sayth)
Megan received her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Brigham Young University - Idaho with an emphasis in Band Education. Her main instrument is the clarinet, but she is an accomplished pianist as well. In college, Megan performed with the BYU-Idaho Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Band, Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonietta, Viking Marching Band, Percussion Ensemble, Woodwind Ensemble and Clarinet Ensemble. During her senior year at BYU-I, she taught ear training skills (solfegge) to incoming freshmen. Megan student taught beginning mixed choir and Advanced Women's Choir at Hillcrest High School. After graduating magna cum laude from BYU-I, Megan worked at Hillcrest for the 2010-2011 school year, assisting mainly as the accompanist for the choirs, but also teaching small sectionals. In August 2011, Megan was hired as the part-time Band Director at Hillcrest High School. In the past, she has served as choir director at her church, and is currently the Music Specialist for girls ages 12-18. Megan has been a closet singer all her life, and is excited to teach such enthusiastic young singers!
